Trauma-informed care

Move at your pace.
Feel heard along the way.

You deserve a setting where your experience is respected and your voice helps guide the next step.

Understanding your experience

Traumatic experiences can affect sleep, mood, concentration, and your sense of safety. For some people, persistent symptoms develop into PTSD. You can discuss what feels relevant to your care without needing to share every detail of an experience at once.

What we may explore

  • The symptoms affecting your day-to-day life now
  • Sleep, distressing memories, avoidance, or changes in alertness
  • Your coping strategies, supports, and previous care
  • What helps you feel comfortable and involved in treatment

How we can help

We consider your symptoms, goals, and preferences when discussing care. Treatment may include medication management, supportive care, and coordination with a therapist who offers trauma-focused treatment. The plan and pace are discussed with you.

What matters to you?

You may want to feel more present in relationships, handle your day with greater confidence, or understand symptoms that have been difficult to explain. We will use your priorities to help guide the plan.

Your questions matter

Before you begin.

Do I need a diagnosis before I book?

No. An initial psychiatric evaluation is an opportunity to talk about what has been difficult, review your history, and make sense of your concerns. You can come with questions, even if you are not sure what to call your experience.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes. SurePath offers virtual care for patients in New Jersey, New York, and Vermont. Eligibility depends on your provider and where you will be located for the visit. Confirm your appointment format and location when scheduling.

Will I have to take medication?

Your clinician will discuss the options that fit your needs, history, and preferences. A plan may include medication, supportive therapy, practical strategies, or coordination with another clinician. Medication decisions are made together after an assessment.
